2017 Repertoire

Accompaniment is always required when applicable. Each category requires 3 separate pieces.

2017 Classical Clarinet:

  • Solo de Concours by Andre Messager
  • Concertino Opus 26 by Carl Maria von Weber
  • A contrasting work of applicant’s choice – not to exceed 15 minutes

Please make separate tracks for each piece or song.  DO NOT put your name in the filename, label each file with the correct composition title. Please submit the repertoire in the order listed here.

All materials must be uploaded by December 7th, 2016.  Recordings of poor audio quality will not be judged.  Winners will be announced on or about January 15th, 2017.


2017 Classical Saxophone:

  • Improvisation et Caprice for solo saxophone by Eugene Bozza
  • Movements 1, 2, and 4 of Brilliance for alto saxophone and piano by Ida Gotkovsky
  • A contrasting work of applicant’s choice – not to exceed 15 minutes

Repertoire to include one ballad, one medium tempo, and one up tempo song.

Please choose one from each category:

  • Ballad:
    • Sophisticated Lady, I Can’t Get Started, Nancy with the Laughing Face, The Midnight Sun
  • Medium tempo:
    • Soon, Epistrophy, Royal Garden Blues, All of You, Con Alma
  • Up Tempo:
    • Hot House, O.P., Countdown, Cottontail, One Finger Snap
