2018 Repertoire

Accompaniment is always required when applicable. Each category requires 3 separate pieces.

2018 Classical Clarinet:

  • Hommage à Manuel de Falla (A Clarinet) by Béla Kovács
  • Solo de Concours by Henri Rabaud
  • A contrasting work of applicant’s choice – not to exceed 15 minutes

Please make separate tracks for each piece or song.  DO NOT put your name in the filename, label each file with the correct composition title. Please submit the repertoire in the order listed here.

All materials must be uploaded by December 8th, 2017.  Recordings of poor audio quality will not be judged.  Winners will be announced on or about January 15th, 2018.



2018 Classical Saxophone:

  • Concerto for Alto Saxophone, 1st movement [Andante et Allegro] by Henri Tomasi
  • Mai for solo Alto Saxophone by Ryo Noda
  • A contrasting work of applicant’s choice – not to exceed 15 minutes

2018 Jazz:

Repertoire to include one ballad, one medium tempo, and one up tempo song.

Please choose one from each category:

  • Ballad:
    • A Flower Is a Lovesome Thing, Lil’ Darlin, Naima, You Don’t Know What Love Is, Over the Rainbow
  • Medium tempo:
    • Serenity, I’ll Be Seeing You, Triste, What Is This Thing Called Love?, Yardbird Suite
  • Up Tempo:
    • Eternal Triangle, Upper Manhattan Medical Group, Del Sasser, You Stepped Out of a Dream,
      Woody ‘N You
