Evan Kappelman is a saxophonist and composer originating from the historically important jazz community of Kansas City. Evan performs regularly on the East Coast as both a bandleader and a sideman, and has performed with bandleader Christian McBride as a member of the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Jazz Academy, as well as at Carnegie Hall followed by a tour across Asia with bandleader Sean Jones and guest artist Kurt Elling as a member of the NYO Jazz program. Evan currently resides in Philadelphia where he attends Temple University under the tutelage of Dick Oatts, Tim Warfield, and Terell Stafford.
