Haven Kahn is a senior music performance major at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, currently studying with David Pope. He is the soprano saxophonist in the Invicta Quartet and frequently performs as a soloist. Haven has received prizes from international, national, and internal competitions, receiving awards from and advancing in competitions such as Vandoren Emerging Artist Competition, Petrichor International Music Competition, MTNA Young Artist Competition, and the JMU Concerto Competition. Haven has also been selected to perform in masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians and teachers like Timothy McAllister, Robert Young, Raaf Hekkema, and the Calefax Reed Quintet. He has premiered works for solo saxophone and saxophone quartet along with the Invicta Quartet, and he continues to commission works to expand the saxophone repertoire.
