Chance Stine recently graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Michigan in 2018, where he studied classical saxophone with internationally-acclaimed saxophone soloist and pedagogue, Dr. Timothy McAllister, and improvisation with Dr. Andrew Bishop. Stine has performed with many bands, orchestras, and other musical groups across America, such as the Academy Festival Orchestra at the Music Academy of the West, Jackson Symphony Orchestra, University of Michigan Symphony Orchestra, and many other regional groups. In past years, he participated as one of the first saxophone fellows at Music Academy of the West and in the Arosa Music Festival in Switzerland. Stine has won several awards and recognitions, such as second prize in the 2017 Manitowoc Young Artist Competition, semi-finalist in the 2018 North American Saxophone Alliance soloist and quartet competitions, semi-finalist in the Madison Symphony Orchestra Final Forte, and honorable mention in the UW-Madison Irving Shain Competition
