Alice McDonald is in her third year of undergraduate studies at The Juilliard School as a student of Charles Neidich. Previously, she attended Juilliard’s Pre-College from 2018-2021, where she studied with Alan Kay and the Hartt School’s Community Division from 2016-2018, where she studied with Curt Blood. Alice has participated in festivals including the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, the National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute, Yellow Barn’s Young Artists Program and the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival. Alice has appeared on NPR’s From the Top, was named a 2020 National YoungArts Foundation Finalist in classical music, was the winner of the Juilliard Pre-College Open Concerto Competition in 2020, performing Nielsen’s Clarinet Concerto with the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra, and was a finalist in Juilliard’s Copland Clarinet Concerto Competition in 2022. A passionate chamber musician, Alice is a founding member of the Essengí Wind Quintet.
